I want to help you launch into the life you’ve

dreamed of…

Brianna Howard, LMSW of The Cozy Couch Counseling + Consulting

Have you ever thought to yourself, “Do I even really know myself?” Do you struggle to move forward in big decisions or assume that whatever choice you make will likely be wrong or lead you to something you’re not prepared for? Do you find yourself paralyzed by over-analysis or anxiety, even when it comes to the small stuff? It can be difficult piecing together the parts of us that we like while simultaneously trying to move past the parts that we don’t like, especially when those parts keep sneaking up when we least want them to. You may even find it difficult to manage relationships or navigate your love life because overthinking takes over and sends you down a path you never wanted. You want to move forward in life with confidence, excitement, and empowerment, but you find yourself constantly checking for just the right time or “permission” from those around you.

Meet Brianna Howard, LMSW

I want to help you break free from your self-judgement and negative self-view.

I want to help you connect all the pieces to the puzzle. I take a trauma-informed approach that considers how all parts of you “then” play into who you are “now.” Trauma or life-shaping events can range from the extreme versions we see portrayed in movies and TV shows to emotional disconnection or negligence that largely goes undetected until it’s time to access vulnerability, intimacy, and trust. I can help you build a set of tools that can be used all throughout life and help you maintain emotional safety and higher self-esteem despite what life may throw at you. I want to help you build a relationship with those parts of yourself that you do not like now so that you don’t continue to dislike those parts of you 30 to 40 years in the future.

I take a special interest in working with trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and depression because those concepts can be so intricately woven together that targeting just one of those would set you up for a never-ending loop of never finding the answer. Working with me allows you to untangle all aspects of your life in order to find long-lasting healing and happiness.

I work with ages 16 and up, all the way through adulthood.

Therapy with me is…

Brianna Howard, LMSW
  • I work hard to give you a safe and comfortable place to process the full range of emotions and experiences.

  • I hear you when you say the hard things. Therapy with me means that I consider everything you tell me, not just the "expected goals."

  • The way I do therapy is heavily based on including you in your treatment. I want you to be bought in just as much as I am. I take special efforts in talking out my thoughts on what therapies I think would be best and hear your feedback on my recommendations.

  • I'm not interested in telling you, "it'll get better as you get older." I want to work with your experiences now, not the possible future ones. By making sure we work together on your stressors of today without minimizing them, we work to create a healthier tomorrow.
